Porirua City Winner for Wellington Airport Community Awards 2010 under the Arts and Culture category

Cr Henry Smith nominated the Lions of Titahi Bay Club under the Arts and Cultural category for the Wellington Airport Community Awards and to win this award plus a cheque to the Lions Club is simply an amazing and powerful affirmation of the humble work we do.

'WE SERVE' is our international Lions motto.

We are all volunteers, we put in long hours and there is a strong 'family' cultural spirit in the club, we come together at club meetings and we encourage each other so if anyone who is interested to be Lion club members come down to our Saturday morning market and see what we do.

Titahi Bay Lions Club members have long been committed 'to serve' our community.

In many ways the primary support is by financially assisting various charities, local schools and kindys, youth development , sports individuals and teams and interact actively in many various iconic events around our Porirua City.

Thank you once again to those who selected us and those who sponsored these community awards.
