Waitangi Day, PORIRUA

Te Rauparaha Park & Arena, Aquatic Centre & Pataka

Official Festival of the Elements website

Welcome to another Porirua Festival of the Elements! I’m looking forward to Waitangi Day on February 6 when once again this now famous one-day festival will offer a superb programme of arts and culture.

This year we once again return to Te Rauparaha Park, and the outstanding new facility in Porirua - Te Rauparaha Arena. The festival will also utilise the Aquatic Centre and Pataka.
The day starts with an opening ceremony at 11am, with a wide range of arts and entertainment programmes continuing through until 6pm.

The Festival uses the arts to celebrate the cultural diversity of Porirua, made possible by the Treaty of Waitangi. The elements of earth and air, fire and water embrace concepts of significance to all cultures, concepts around which we can all unite. Tangata Whenua and Tangata Tiriti rejoice together on Waitangi Day by way of the arts.

This Festival continues to be a non-profit event, organised by the Porirua Community Arts Council.

Lions Club of Titahi Bay provide Lions members, what we do.

– Support for lost property, lost children.

– Casual day-time security as required in co-operation with other groups, Maori Wardens, Guardians etc

– Stall holder ushering onto and off the grounds

 – Traffic control staffing at main entry points.

– Availability of limited range UHF two-way hand-held radio communications.

– Other assistance as required at the time of the Festival of the Elements event.

The Festival of the Elements remains a great day out every year! Don’t miss it!
